Getting started

What should I include in my first request?

Select Request service, then sign in or create an account in the client portal. Choose the service and complete the case details, location, deadline and requested documents. Add any relevant add-ons, then review the request and fees before proceeding.

What happens when I submit a service request?

Eligible process-serving and court or document-support requests can proceed to checkout at the published rate. Rush or Same-Day timing does not itself require a manual quote. Requests with a review requirement, such as Remote Assistant or a partner-service inquiry, go to the team for confirmation. Creating an account alone does not submit a request, and payment does not guarantee a successful outcome.

Can I request more than one service?

Yes. Describe the steps you need, such as court filing followed by courtesy copy delivery. Each part of the work will be clarified so the destinations, timing and deliverables are clear.

How do I share confidential documents?

Provide the documents requested in the portal’s service form. For an existing matter, follow the sharing instructions associated with that matter or another channel agreed with your Affid team. Keep case documents out of general support messages.

Process serving

What happens if an attempt is unsuccessful?

The attempt and available information are recorded. The team can discuss the next step with you; additional work is agreed within the scope of your request.

Can you help me choose or prepare legal forms?

This service is for delivering prepared documents. Questions about which documents to use, what to file or how to proceed with a case should be directed to your legal adviser.

Does a rush request need a separate quote?

Rush service uses the published rate selected by your requested due date. Eligible requests can proceed to checkout without a manual quote just because they are urgent. A separate review is needed only when another part of the request requires it, such as an unresolved address.

Does rush mean same-day completion?

No. Rush prices apply to requested due dates 3–6 calendar days away; the Same-Day tier applies to dates today or within 2 calendar days, using America/Los_Angeles time. These are pricing bands, not a guarantee of successful service or four attempts on one day.

What is a stakeout for service?

It is a defined period at an agreed location for the purpose of attempting document service. The location, time window, fees and instructions are settled in advance.

Does scheduled time guarantee a completed serve?

No. Completion depends on the opportunity to serve. The time spent and outcome are recorded so you have a clear account of the work.

Court & document work

Is this an electronic filing service?

This service covers local, in-person court filing. Tell us the court and the work required so the team can confirm the appropriate arrangements.

What if the court returns or declines the packet?

The available outcome and returned information are reported to you. Any correction, resubmission or additional work is discussed with you before being arranged.

Does courtesy copy delivery also file my documents?

No. Courtesy copy delivery and filing are separate tasks. Include both in the request if you need the team to coordinate both steps.

Can the team arrange printing or assembly?

Upload the prepared documents and describe any copy-format or assembly instructions. Printing charges are calculated from the uploaded document page count, with the first 50 pages included and additional pages charged at $0.25 each. Special assembly requirements should be identified in the instructions.

Is document delivery the same as process serving?

No. A courier assignment coordinates pickup and delivery. If you need service of process or court filing, identify that separately so the appropriate work can be arranged.

Can I combine pickup with another service?

Yes. Explain the sequence, such as document pickup followed by filing or courtesy copy delivery. Each part of the request will be confirmed with you.

Remote Assistant

Is the assistant on site or working online?

Your assistant attends the agreed location in person while you coordinate remotely. The service supports on-site inspections, local runner tasks and practical field work for your team.

Who is this service for?

Law firms, private investigators and other legal professionals who need someone locally to carry out a defined checklist, collect materials or support an on-site assignment.

How is the work billed?

The service is billed hourly. The location checker shows a starting estimate for your requested hours; the final hourly rate, scope and any expenses are confirmed before work begins.

Client workspace

How do I get access?

New clients can create an account when starting a service request; existing clients can sign in. For an existing matter, use the email address associated with it. Account registration does not grant access to every matter. Contact the team if you are expecting an invitation or cannot find a matter you should be able to access.

What appears in my workspace?

The workspace brings together the cases shared with you, requested materials, case updates and reviewed deliverables. What is available depends on the particular matter and what the team has shared.

Can I upload documents there?

You can provide materials requested by the team from the relevant matter. Keep the document and the matter together so the team has the correct context.

Is the website preview a live case?

No. The website uses an illustrative sample to explain the workflow. Sign in to the client portal to see the actual matters and materials you have access to.
