Case documents are kept in private storage and opened only through signed-in accounts with access to the matter. Ask the team before sending anything outside the workspace.
Case documents
Documents you upload to the client workspace are stored in private storage. They are not published at public web addresses and open only for signed-in accounts with access to the matter.
Share case packets through the workspace or another method the team arranges for your matter, not through support chat or ordinary email. Tell us about any special handling restrictions before the assignment is arranged.
Who can see your matter
Access follows the role of each account. Clients see the matters shared with their account. Affid staff and the process servers or contractors assigned to an assignment receive the information needed for that work.
The workspace checks an account’s role and permissions before showing a matter or document. Registering an account does not grant access to every matter involving your firm; contact the team when a colleague needs access.
Accounts and sign-in
The workspace supports two-step verification with an authenticator app. Keep your password and sign-in links private, and use the email address associated with your matter.
Connected app credentials, such as a document storage or calendar connection you authorize, are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored. You can review and disconnect integrations in your workspace.
Service providers
Affid uses established providers for the parts of the service they specialize in. Each processes information only as needed for its role.
- Vercel: website and workspace hosting, including private document storage
- Clerk: client sign-in
- Stripe: eligible online checkout. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s page, not stored by Affid.
- Intercom: support and Case Chat conversations
- Pipedream: account integrations you choose to connect
Reporting a security concern
If you believe your account or a document has been exposed, or you have found a security issue in the website or workspace, email support@affidserve.com with “Security” in the subject. Include what you saw and when. Please don’t include passwords or case documents in the message.
If you need details for a vendor review, such as a security questionnaire, ask the team and tell us what your firm requires.
