What you can rely on.

Each point below is covered in more detail on the linked page.

01

Registered servers serve your papers.

Affid is a registered and bonded California process server, and every process server who serves papers for Affid is a California registered process server. Registration details appear on each signed Proof of Service; we don't publish registration numbers on this site.

  • Affid serves, files and delivers prepared documents and carries out defined on-site tasks.
  • Affid is not a law firm and doesn't give legal advice. Your attorney or the California Courts self-help pages decide the legal steps.
02

Every attempt is on the record.

Each attempt is logged with its date, time, GPS location and a photo, and saved to your matter. When service is complete, the registered process server signs the proof of service for you to file.

  • Follow attempts and outcomes in your client workspace.
  • For substituted service, the mailing date and the date service is complete are recorded too.
03

Your documents stay private.

Documents you upload are kept in private storage, never at public web addresses, and open only for signed-in accounts with access to the matter.

  • Access follows each account's role: clients see their own matters; staff and assigned servers see what the assignment needs.
  • Two-step verification with an authenticator app is available for your account.
  • Credentials for apps you connect are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored.
04

Chat when you choose to.

The chat on this site loads only when you open it. Fin, our AI assistant, answers first and the Affid team can take over.

  • Keep case documents, passwords and card details out of chat; documents go in your client workspace.
  • Chat runs on Intercom, one of the providers listed on our security page.
05

Prices you can check first.

Get an address-based estimate without an account. The scope and fees are confirmed with you before work begins.

  • Eligible online checkout runs on Stripe; card details are entered on the payment provider's page, not stored by Affid.
  • Cancellations and refunds follow a published policy.
